The Legislative Assembly Office offers a competitive compensation package including a good benefits plan. Salary range is $72,000 - $77,004 annually, based on experience.  

Hours Per Week:

Full Time (36.25 hours per week). Occasional evening and weekend availability may be required.

 

 

Additional Information:

Alberta’s NDP Caucus is seeking a well-organized and experienced individual to support community outreach and stakeholder relations work for the caucus. The position is onsite, based at the NDP Caucus Office located in Calgary, Alberta. 

In support of the strategic priorities of the NDP Caucus, the successful candidate will assist in the development, implementation, and monitoring of a comprehensive stakeholder relations strategy that ensures MLAs are able to effectively interact and engage with Albertans and the organizations in which they participate.

They will support effective liaison with a wide range of groups in Alberta, including but not limited to businesses, associations, municipalities, labour groups, and cultural communities to name a few. 

This position will also support policy development, communications, and administration as needed in the course of their work.

An ideal candidate will have:

  • Demonstrated experience in stakeholder relations
  • Excellent relational skills for diverse situations and people
  • Excellent work planning skills, including the ability to establish priorities, meet deadlines, be flexible, and work with a minimum of supervision
  • Demonstrated ability to lead projects and use software (e.g. stakeholder databases, Excel, OneDrive) to manage information, set targets and track progress, and create reports
  • A solid understanding of the range of community groups, associations, and civil society throughout the province
  • Strong written and oral communications skills
  • Interest in, and knowledge of, Alberta political affairs
  • Relevant post-secondary education and training
