About the Artist

Francis began attending art school at age 12, learning figurative and landscape drawing in pencil and ink, and painting with watercolours and pastels. Later at design school, Francis studied art history, architecture and drawing, earning his certification in Interior Design in 2002.
Originally from the Philippines, Francis settled in Edmonton in 2010. After a hiatus from the art world, Francis returned in 2015. Growing his proficiency in watercolours, Francis’ work has now been featured in several art publications and international competitions, garnering several awards.
When not working on commissions in his home studio, Francis teaches at The Paint Spot in Edmonton. He hopes to never retire from being a watercolourist.
