Like many Albertans, Nagwan’s 15-year career began in oil and gas, as well as oil sands at TotalEnergies. Prior to being elected in May 2023, Nagwan was the Director of the Business Renewables Centre Canada, advancing large-scale renewables in Alberta.

Nagwan believes in strengthening our economy by attracting investment and talent to Alberta, creating well-paying jobs, and a thriving energy sector.

Nagwan holds two degrees from the University of Calgary, including a Master of Science in Sustainable Energy Development. She speaks three languages (English, French, Arabic).

Avenue Magazine named her to Calgary’s Top 40 under 40 list in 2022, and in 2023, the Globe and Mail named her one of the 50 Changemakers and emerging leaders reinventing how Canada does business.
